Our Standard
Five checks. Every piece. Every partner.
Leather Latam is curated, not aggregated. Every product and every partner brand must clear five checks before it enters the catalogue. We say no often.
01
Origin
Every piece is traceable to a named workshop, tannery, or ranch in a specific Latin American country. No white-label, no mystery sourcing. We publish the chain on every product page.
02
Tanning
Vegetable-tanned and slow-tanned hides preferred — typically 4–6 weeks in quebracho bark. Chrome-tanned pieces are accepted only from partners who meet verified environmental discharge standards (LWG-rated or equivalent).
03
Craft
Stitch density, edge burnishing, hardware quality, structural construction. Every item is inspected at the source before it lists. We track each partner's rework rate and drop those who slip.
04
Ethics
All leather is a byproduct of regional cattle ranching. No exotic skins from threatened species. No opaque supply chains. No partners with unresolved labour disputes.
05
Durability
Pieces our partners stand behind for a decade or more — we ask for the warranty in writing. We publish patina photography at 1, 5 and 10 years to show how each leather actually ages.
